Amber: founder of silver pix studios

Amber has had a gift for the arts since a very young age. Before she could talk or walk she could draw and was fascinated with the camera. She never liked coloring books because coloring books made you draw within the lines. Amber wanted to create outside those lines, create something unique and make it into a beautiful artistic experience. Today she produces stories, cinematography / photography with a unique perspective that is unmatched in her field and admired by her peers. Amber is considered one of the Top 20 Wedding Cinematographers in New England and has won many awards for her multitude of imaginative talents.

Amber started educating herself about the camera at age 7 and never stopped. Growing up in Los Angeles she was privy to knowing some of the best actors, musicians and artists. She became a child actor and got bit with the film bug after her first role as a ballerina extra in the movie Flash Dance. Once she saw the huge lens of that 35mm film camera it was over!  That was the only place she wanted to be. Either behind the camera or in front of it. You would find her saving her allowance to buy rolls of film and sneak out in the early dawn to take photos and create photographs.

When she was in middle school the bright lights of Los Angeles dimmed and her family moved to Boston. Although it was cold, and an almost foreign territory for her she grew to LOVE its culture, art, history, universities, spectacular sports teams, salty accents and of course its coffee! Now she is a soul of both coasts and wouldn't have it any other way. Spending exactly half her life out West and half back East its only fit to live and work in both places.

Amber started attending college level art classes at Mass Art and The School of the Museum on Fine Arts Boston at the age of thirteen. By the time she was 16 she started drawing nudes and photographing at a professional Fine Art Level. She won two of the acclaimed Boston Globe- Golden Key Awards in the photography and illustration categories. She later went to college and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Tufts University. Amber was then awarded early graduation along with her Five Year Art Diploma from The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston for photography/cinematography, design with a minor in acting and performance art.

Amber currently is an avid artist, video engineer, cinematographer, photographer, actress and storyteller. Her infatuation with the camera, the pencil, and the moving image has taken her very far.  Amber works professionally in Los Angeles, New York and all over New England. She has be sited as one of the Top 20 Cinematographers in Boston, Massachusetts by Expertise.com. and a trailblazer for female Video Engineers. Amber being in the forefront of video technology is also one of a small handful female Video Assist Engineers in the IATSE Local 695 Sound & Video Hollywood Film Union.
